A large, excellently preserved Barasaurus Besairiei preserved in a split nodule. Barasaurus is an extinct genus of Procolophonoid Parareptile from the Permian of Madagascar. This example is one of the best we've seen and exhibits fine detail, including detailed patches of skin and gastroliths preserved in place. These gastroliths were consumed during life in order to weigh the reptile down to hunt at greater depths. A fantastic display fossil.
