This large Aegasteroceras Sagittarium has fantastic sutures and is preserved with multiple calcite variations - showcasing the fine range of Scunthorpe colours in one single specimen. Ammonites of this Calibre from the Frodingham Ironstone are a real rarity these days, since the steel works in which these specimens were found are no longer in operation. This piece would make a focal point for any collection, or, equally, place very well as a decorative piece for the home or workplace. A fantastic British fossil from a location that is no longer accessible. Small repair to the reverse due to the nature in which these specimens were found. Ammonite has been excellently prepared and polished back to the 'cats paw' and stands in full relief of its surrounding matrix.
